01. Introducing Your Dog to the Toilet
Dogs aren't naturally born knowing they need to use a dog toilet, so they need guidance from their owner. You need to use a leash to guide your dog, and every time it goes on the toilet, give it a treat as a reward. After trying a few times, add a verbal cue. Once your dog gets used to it, it will naturally go to the dog toilet.
02. Catch the Three Key Bathroom Moments for Your Dog
Moment 1: Right after your dog has eaten. Most dogs will need to go to the bathroom then, so guide it promptly.
Moment 2: After your dog wakes up, especially in the morning. Usually, after guidance, it will go on its own. If it doesn’t work well, keep using the first step to guide it.
Moment 3: When the dog is overly excited, make sure to take it to the toilet immediately, otherwise it might still go anywhere.
03. Give Your Dog Enough Patience
For dogs under 8 months old or dogs with very excitable personalities, you need to take them to the toilet every 2–3 hours. After they finish, reward them or give them a hug so they feel this is the right thing to do.
